A Phenomenal Start
The moment that I hit the Launch button yesterday, I had two potential Day 1 goals in mind. The first was reaching 20% of our campaign total. Given how we performed during the first 24 hours of Hallowed North #1, it seemed like an attainable milestone. The second was more ambitious: 30%. Not only did we meet that, but we did so with 6 hours to spare!
Hallowed North #2 has had an incredible first day on Kickstarter, raising over $1,700 from 71 backers. That is all thanks to the backers who showed up early and supported us in these crucial opening hours. I am deeply humbled and appreciate every bit of support we've received. And the cherry on top to all of this wonderful news? We were named a Kickstarter "Project We Love"!
I am very grateful that Hallowed North has twice now earned this distinction. It is a testament to the beautiful work done by the creative team, the powerful message behind the book, and the ongoing support we’ve received.
We’ve still got a long way to go and almost $4,000 to raise but we’re off to a great start! Please continue sharing the project wherever you can, it helps so much more than you know. If we're able to keep this momentum going, I'm feeling pretty good about our chances at seeing a successful campaign at close.

A. Guardian is an epic, dark fantasy -- with heart -- comic book series created by Eastin DeVerna (writer/story) and Kay Baird (artist/story), with letters by Shawn Daley, and back up story art by Grim Wilkins. This campaign features both volumes I & II -- the first volume comprising of 100 pages, and the second volume coming in at 96 BRAND NEW PAGES of material -- continuing on from volume I with chapters 4, 5, and 6.
It’s a routine morning subway ride to school in New York, circa 1999. Hila and Ramon, two bored teens, steal a man’s bag on a whim. When they eventually manage to lose the stranger, Hila opens the bag and can’t believe what she’s seeing inside: there is a severed head! Thus begins the zany chain of events where a trained hitman, an FBI agent, and others are hunting the teens down to get the head back! Headcases is a fast-paced crime drama with a splash of dark humor. It's planned as a 4-issue miniseries.
Kid Cretaceous wished her toy dinosaur, Ty Rex, could save her dad during an auto accident. Now Ty Rex is her hero and best friend. But superheroes can’t smash mandated therapy away. Or can they?
This new superhero, coming of age story is about a young girl grappling with new powers, a new town, a new trauma, and a new weekly chore: therapy! Kid Cretaceous is a 5 issue comic book series written by me, illustrated, and lettered by Gaspar Sabater and Dee Noonan.
